Physiotherapy

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of problems affecting movement — muscles, joints, tendons, nerves and the way they work together. It's a regulated healthcare profession: physiotherapists are trained to examine you properly, identify what's causing your symptoms, recognise when something needs medical attention, and treat it with methods supported by evidence rather than tradition.

Physiotherapy helps with pain and injury, but it isn't only for injuries. It's equally about restoring movement you've lost, building capacity you never had, and getting people back to work, sport and normal life after surgery or injury.

What to expect

A full assessment. Your first appointment is a full hour. That's the time it takes to take a real history, examine you thoroughly, and test objectively.

A diagnosis. You'll be told what's causing your problems, and how long it should take to recover.

Measurement. Your strength, movement and asymmetry are recorded using clinical-grade equipment and re-tested as you progress.

A plan. Your rehabilitation programme comes to your phone with video demonstrations, clear numbers and progression criteria.

Honesty about what physiotherapy can't fix. Some problems need imaging, a GP, or a surgeon. If that's you, we’ll tell you and help you get there.

No pressure to keep coming back. No packages, no pre-paid blocks. You'll be discharged when you're ready.
